lifeskills

Today, we had cape diam in the mornings. So we missed 3 periods of lessons. That is a lot!

But outside that, there is an even bigger drawback. I don’t think I learn anything much. Most of it is common sense, like, your career must be something you like to do, and, every choice is important. I hear all of these all the time, outside this programme. So there parts are not really important to me.

Though, I still cannot deny that I did gain some knowledge. For instance, I learnt that due to my CS personality, I would prefer technical and stable work. However, I should gain more knowledge in a normal maths lesson compared to this, should I?

There are some good points in the programme too. For instance, it is very entertaining. He said a lot of jokes. It was very funny. His jokes is so good that I cannot remember any of the jokes now. Typical I personality.

Outside the cape diam session we have today, there are a lot of interesting things that happened this week. For instance, 80 sec 1s put my CCA down as 1st choice. It is a very great number. Also a CNY celebration was very interesting too. The past few weeks have been very exciting.

BTW, regarding the public apology. I did not carry it out due to laziness. I suddenly lost all the passion for it on Monday morning. However, if you think hard enough, you should realise that the apology would be to my CCA’s advantage.

21-1-09

Today, I had a very nice PE lesson. We did rock climbing. I think that it is more fun than it sees. Actually, I was quite afraid that I would fall during the climb, thus I was slow but steady. I should be able to climb better than that. Cannot wait to try again.

Some people think that rock climbing is a waste of time. Personally, I am a bit unhappy with them cos I think that it is quite fun. I think that we are very fortunate to do rock climbing for PE lessons.

Later, we have a house meeting. I signed up for competitive cross country this year. To be honest, my mind was all about CCA points and medals when I signed up. Nevertheless, there were also a lot of other benefits like more exercise. I am going to train for this event, so watch out.

After school, I did not go for CCA as I have to rush off for a lifesaving test. I am currently taking ‘Distinction Award’. It is a very high and prestigious award. So, I am very skilled and have a very vast knowledge of rescue in water. I am very zai. (Self praise. Haha)

We were supposed to meet at 4 pm for some revision before the test.

When I arrived at Farrer Park MRT station, it was 4.20 pm. I panicked cos I was dam late. I rushed to the pool, only to see unoccupied tables and chairs. Then, I smiled to myself after realising the irony of the situation. I was dam late, but still first to arrive.

The real test was smooth sailing. The theory part of the test was an one to one, interview-like test where the examiner asks you some questions and you have to answer verbally. The questions were quite fun as it requires more logic rather than memory work. Actually, I have to use logic as NONE of the things I studied came out.LOL. However, it seems that I still did quite well for the test despite the odds. (Self praise again.HAHA)

My prediction for the next few days: better than today.

Apology

A few days ago, me and another person went to the sec 1 classrooms very early in the mornings with the intention of publicising our CCA. We stupidly wrote two lists on the white board, one on the activities we have and the other on the activities N Land have, knowing perfectly well that we have more activities than N land. Thus, this will cause the sec 1s to think that our CCA is better that N Land. Naturally, N Land felt insulted. They felt that we have openly dissed their CCA, breaking a major rule in the game. Thus, the many bonds between N Air and N Land has been weakened as many of them felt that our actions are underhand.

I sincerely apologise for my terrible mistake. I never expected such an enormous reaction from N Land. I am very very sorry and hope that you will forgive my stupidity and continue to maintain a healthy relationship between the two CCAs. Therefore, as an apology, I will make a public statement on Tuesday to apologise for my mistake and at the same time, bring out some good points N Land has. Thus, I hope you will accept my sincere apology and continue to have good ties with N Air.

Today Is Quite Nice

I came to school early to go to the sec1s classes to advertise my CCA. I think that we are the only CCA that does this. Anyway, I think that we are quite successful. I think that I did quite a good job in persuading them to join. I hope that my CCA will have more than 30 sec1s this year.YAY!

The PE lesson later was also good. We ran 2.4. I ran unexpectedly well, improved by 24s, from 11.01 to 10.37. Hey, that looks like an A. I should get a perfect score for NAFA this year, finally. Perfect score for NAFA has been my goal since sec2, and I always fail to get it due to 2.4, ending up with 29 points. I feel a great sense of satisfaction, and pride, for achieving this timing.

I had physics test after school. I felt very shack especially after the 2.4 all of the lessons after that. Luckily, Durian was sitting beside me during the test. He is very intelligent, and nice. He spotted two mistakes on my paper and told me on the spot.

I was doing the test, then suddenly.

‘Hey Wei Xuan, how come your answer for Q2 is 6? I thought it is 2.6?’

I checked my answer and realised that my answer is wrong. The correct answer is 26.

I should ace this test.

Good yet lousy

Today is interesting. It was good yet lousy. It rocks yet sucks. HAHA. I tell you the good stuff 1st.

Today, the school finally activated the AIR CONs in our classrooms! IT is very comfortable, although it was too cold sometimes. The main reason why I welcome the air cons is because it is more high tech compared to traditional fans.

Also, the PDS performance at the UG talk rocks! It was very cool. Grape and cherry accidentally dropped their rifle while doing Vincent toss. However, coincidentally they dropped their rifle AT THE SAME TIME! It was dam nice! Although it was a mistake, it did not look like a mistake at all. It was an accident but it looked like it is on purpose. Dam cool.

Other than that, the performance was very good. The drills were coordinated. The ugliest mistake was Strawberry’s rotation. But other than that, it was perfect.

The bad stuff.

Today I have ALOT of homework! I have 2 English worksheet, 2 Chem worksheet, 1 Maths worksheet and 1 Physics worksheet. I am working on these assignments now, hoping to finish all the homework by today even though the dateline is next Monday. HAHA.

Ahh... Sec 4!

Since school reopens, time seemed to pass faster than usual. What happened during the day became a distant memory as soon as I reached home. Maybe it is because the amount of free time I have significantly dropped since school reopens. Maybe, it is because I am stressed out by the phrase ‘sec4’. Maybe, it is because of sec1 orientation. I know! It is the combination of everything mentioned above.

Nevertheless, I have been mugging relatively hard and I am quite satisfied by the rate in which I am going. Every day is like: Go school, go home, sleep, eat dinner, mug + revision and sleep (12am). I hope that I will do well in prelim 1.

The pass few days, the time spent in school is exceptionally interesting. In the mornings, I did hard selling. Personally, I think that it is crap. Some of the Sec1s, instead of listening to me, dissed my CCA. This pissed me off. I think that it is utterly disrespectful to diss my CCA when I am trying to promote it. I think that some of our juniors are doing a better job than us, especially the person in debate team.

The rest of the day is slightly better. The lessons are nice. Every teacher got their own unique style and it is getting better. Maths and history lessons were filled with laughter. The English mass lecture and Bio are serious yet very interesting. Chinese, once in a blue moon, was fun! They were all very good... so far.

According to my time table, tomorrow will probably be an even shorter and more interesting day, because got Physics SPA, PE, Chinese and Assembly. Can’t wait for tomorrow. HAHA.
